Noticing some of your other posts you sure do hate Anet... Maybe it would be in your best interest (and all of ours) to just leave if you dislike them so much, since CLEARLY they're massive failures according to the majority of your posts.
Back on topic... I tend to pretend they didn't even whisper me and go about my business. I take a SS and later report but I doubt it does much good. It's also a possibility that they're hacking somehow on their trial accounts to gain the ability to send whispers. WoW had this problem in a different way. Generally chat in WoW is separated to the zone you are in, much like districts... Well people were getting advertisements in the general chat from one single person while in any zone of the game, including instances. So them somehow hacking isn't exactly out of the question.

Pretty sure the only time I come across as hating ANet is when the common consensus is that they've done something incredibly stupid and are thus massive failures, like the current skill balances for example. I've been playing since early 05 so I'd appreciate it if you would stfu when you don't know anything about me or my reasons for posting what I do. Bot farmers/account sellers have always been a problem, ANet just haven't gotten around, or found a way, to stop them.

And they are in every ORPG I've ever heard of, and everyone says the same thing about them. "They aren't doing anything about it". The thing is that they probably are, it's just that they cannot do enough to put a dent in it because they continuously reemerge and it's difficult to take action on someone who can barely speak the same language as you.
I admit I flew off the handle and don't exactly want this to erupt into a flame fest but none of us really know how Anet's team operates so it's really not fair for anyone to judge them so harshly.

On a side note isn't it NCSoft that handles all the support issues for Anet?
|
Agreed, Anet simply cannot ban every single one of these accounts, they ban one, these guys will simply buy more slots(there isn't a limit cap on slots, is there?). So Anet will ending up doing: banning banning banning, rise and repeat, and sooner or later they will give it up, this is a war which Anet simply cannot win. A quote from Magic(=p) "Nothing can banish the force of darkness....not even light" The best we can do imo is stop others from buying gold, if enough people stop, the business will not profit which will lead to its collapse. But looking at the MMORPGs as of right now, fat chance is my opinion of stopping the gold sellers. =/

That may explain why I had no clue that it was at all bad. I've gotten a gold selling PM maybe twice, ever.

Its not black and white. I have the option to not care. I have never once been bothered by them. That doesn't mean I want them to PM me just because I don't care, and the other option you gave puts me on your side. You basically gave me the options are you on my side or do you support gold sellers?

In this case, no. But for PvP balancing, lots of people know Izzy personally and even speak with him, so they're right in criticising him. There's also the way people like Ensign put game balance on a platter and give it to Izzy, yet he somehow manages to fail completely. But enough of that, it's kind of irrelevant.

I got one of these while vanquishing, just thinking it was someone I sold/bought something from on the Guru auction site. This ticked me off, in the middle of playing, I took a screen shot, sent it to plaync/anet, got a ticket.
Then got one auto reply: The Answers below were automatically selected and shown to you by RightNow SmartAssistant when you submitted your question. This is simply a log for your records of what you were presented with.

I hope they never have that option, because I KNOW people I'm selling/buying to in Kamadan are going to be too damn stupid to turn it off. Also, for that to work, there'd need to be a two-way thing for friendlists. If you add someone, they aren't added to your list until they accept, and in turn, you are on theirs. Otherwise that option wouldn't work.

Hopefully they will move to european districts and drive out all the tards that stand around the trophy.
I would much rather see some little chinese person spamming gold adverts than hoards of horny 12yr olds spouting crap like "HEY FITGIRL21 WANNA CYBER COZ I LEIK UR BOOBS" or even worse "MY CHEMICAL ROMAncE R KoOL"

I've had 2 PMs offering me gold and it was two times too many. Would it be that difficult and require too many resources to add an "Advertising" feature in the /report window?
Also, I think it would help if they lifted the restriction on reporting that only allows /report on people in the same district/instance as you.
I'd rather actively help to get rid of these spammers but I need some means to do so. I don't want to send a ticket to support about every single bot/spammer/gold seller i see.

It is completely insane. Anet is spending more time smacking down legit players trying to get those stupid Factions titles.
The real problem is bot farmers constantly running out the door. They are the ones hurting the economy and spamming all chat with gold ads.
Anet is the "EPIC FAILZOR"
I tell ya more legit players are going to start doing this due to lack of content.
Well ya get what you pay for. Thats right, I dont pay for anything. Thats why this is happening. Those of you with experience with WoW speak up. Does that game have the same percentage, per player,of problems that GW has?
